외국인 보호소에서 온 편지 (A letter from Foreigner Detention Center)

 

파르닷 알리안 씨는 이란에서 이슬람에서 기독교로 개종한 이 후  한국으로 피신해와 난민인정 신청을 하였습니다. 그러나 법무부로부터 난민 불인정 판정을 받았고 이 후 우여곡절 끝에 미등록 상태로 체류중이었습니다.  그러던 중  '불법체류'  사유로 잡혀 화성외국인보호소에 수감되었지만 만 2년 째 강제출국을 거부하고 있습니다.  2주전, 보호소를 방문하였을 때 그의 상태가 좋지 않음을 직감하였고 위기를 느꼈습니다. 그는 너무 지쳐 있었습니다. 그를 빨리 구해내야할 것 같습니다.

 

오늘 그로부터 SNS를 통해 한장의 사진을 받았습니다.  ChatGPT의 도움을 받아 읽어보니 자신의 신앙간증입니다.  소식 나눕니다.

또한, 영원한 고통에서 벗어나 영생의 안식처로 나아갈 수 있다는 기쁜 소식을 전해 주었습니다. 주님의 은혜로, 그리고 그리스도의 십자가 희생과 흘리신 보혈로 인해 저의 죄가 씻기고 새로운 삶의 기회를 얻게 되었습니다. 한마디로, 그리스도께서 저를 하나님과 화해시키고 친구가 되게 해 주셨습니다. 이는 제가 이슬람을 믿었을 때와 정반대였으며, 그때는 하나님과 저 사이에 아무런 우정이 없었습니다. 저는 기독교를 선택했습니다. 왜냐하면 이슬람과 달리 폭력과 살인을 이야기하지 않고, 서로를 사랑하고 친절을 베푸는 것에 대해 가르치기 때문입니다.

After becoming acquainted with the Holy Book and reading it, many emotions were stirred within me. Christianity gave me joy, hope, and peace; it saved me from depression and gave purpose to my once meaningless and empty life. It made me realize that Christ is the only way to salvation and that no one can come to the Father except through Him.

 

It brought me the good news of deliverance from eternal torment and refuge in eternal life, which was granted to me through the grace of the Lord, the crucifixion of Christ, and the shedding of His blood, cleansing me of my sins and giving me a new chance at life. In short, Christ reconciled me with God and made me His friend—something that was the opposite when I was a Muslim, as there was no friendship between me and God. I chose Christianity because, unlike Islam, it does not speak of killing and violence but rather of love and kindness toward one another. He is the only way to salvation.

 

 

 

 

* Fardad Aliyan fled to South Korea after converting from Islam to Christianity to escape persecution. However, he was denied refugee status by the Ministry of Justice. While staying in South Korea without legal status, he was detained as an "illegal immigrant" and incarcerated at the Hwaseong Immigration Detention Center.
